‘Mad Men’ on giant screen in Times Square

As thousands of devotees of the hit series “Mad Men” packed the area to watch the season premiere on a giant screen, cast members greeted fans, including many chi flat irons   were dressed up and ready to inhabit the glamorous and naughty world of Madison Avenue, circa 1964.

“It’s a dream come true to be here in the middle of Manhattan for the premiere. I live in New York. I love this city and I’m proud of it,” said Elizabeth Moss, who plays chi hair straighteners, an ambitious woman struggling to make it in the man’s world of advertising.As many as 10,000 people turned out, including Abby Pearson, 21, a fashion student from Missouri State University who came dressed for 1960s-era success.

“If only I could dress like this everyday and not get strange looks on the subway,” said Pearson, showing off her requisite pearls, red high heels and A-line skirt.”I don’t like drama in my life but in other people’s lives it’s entertaining,” she said.Cheap ghd straightners, 32, an advertising account director from Chelsea, sported a gray suit and retro-thin silver tie like his idol, Don Draper, the high-powered executive and philandering husband played by Jon Hamm.”Don Draper is the coolest dude on the planet,” Perry said.”It’s interesting to see how much fun they used to be having at work” compared to ad agencies today, he said wistfully.
